Nature:
H2N-PEG4-tBu is a polyethylene glycol (PEG) Derivative Containing four ethylene glycol (EG) units, one of which is protected by tert-butyl ester. It is a solid powder with good solubility and dispersibility. This compound also has the characteristics of high stability, acid and alkali resistance and temperature.
Use:
H2N-PEG4-tBu are widely used in chemical biology and medicine. Its applications in drug delivery and carrier systems are numerous. This compound can be used as a multifunctional PEGylation reagent for coupling reactions with other compounds. H2N-PEG4-tBu also act as a coating agent that inhibits protein adsorption and cell adhesion.
Method:
A common method of preparing H2N-PEG4-tBu is through a polymerization etherification reaction. First, ethylene glycol (EG) and tert-butoxide (tBu-OH) are subjected to a condensation reaction to obtain a H2N-PEG4-tBu.
